Our Goals

  • To provide the highest quality, most reliable, and cost-efficient neurological patient care in the region.
  • To continuously expand neurological education outreach for the benefit of the region’s patients.
  • To expand WNI research program, thus providing additional technologies and treatment options for the patients we serve.

History of the Institute

The Washington Neuroscience Institute traces its legacy to the Neurology group at Valley Medical Center to the 1970’s. At the time, Dr. Daniel Melber began his work in the field of general neurology at Valley Medical Center. VMC has seen the tremendous growth of this highly specialized field and now all of it comes together as key components of WNI.  In recent years, Valley Medical Center has

brought together a wide array of specialists who have 20 or more years of experience specializing in neurosciences in the Puget Sound region.  In 2006, Valley Medical center brought together this team - the Washington Neuroscience Institute. Nationally-renowned David G. Vossler, MD, whose pioneering epilepsy research and technique is studied by physicians across the nation, was named the first Medical Director of WNI.
